Director and political activist Rob Roase and his wife were found in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, and police are investigating the circumstances of the apparent murder, authorities said.
Although police declined to publicly identify the two dead, Mayor Karen Bass and California Gaavin News, 78, and his wife, Michele, died.
“This is a terrible loss for our city and our country.
The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement on social media calling the case “an apparent homicide.” Police had not arrested anyone for questioning and did not identify a suspect as of Sunday evening, Deputy Alan Hamilton told a news conference.
The movie star and his wife, Michele, got married in 1989, and together they have three children, Jahake, Nick, and Romy.
Many media organizations, including People, have said that Rob Reater’s family is responsible for the death of his parents.
The publication cited multiple sources close to the family.
However, the police have not yet verified the account.
Many people were upset about how Nick’s name was mentioned as the suspect when the police did not arrest him.
For those who are not aware, the basis of the suspicion is not only the media reports, but only the drug addiction that he talked about in the interview is viewed without doubt.
In a 2016 interview with People, Nick talked about his first struggle with drug addiction, which started in his early teens and ended up living on the streets.
He said he came out of rehab and was surprised at the age of 15, but because he was doing it, he ran away from his house and spent a lot of time homeless.
Nick said that his difficult period of addiction, which included nights and sometimes weeks of sleeping outside, later became the basis for the semi-prime film Charlie, which he wrote himself.
“Now, I’ve been home for a long time, and I’m dying to come back to LA and be with my family,” Nick said at the time.
