Tara Reid spoke out about her protest after police closed an investigation into whether she was drugged in a hotel bar.
The 50-year-old star – who accused a stranger of drugging her after she had one drink at a hotel in Rosemont, near Chicago, on November 23, before being stretchered off and taken to hospital – responded after police closed the case for lack of evidence.
In response, she told him Daily Mail newspaper: “All the bullying that has been done to me since everyone has twisted the truth without having the facts and was not even there to testify is really affecting my mental health and I need to stop.”
“I’m making this statement to help people see the truth of what really happened to understand the truth and how sad this really is,” she added.
The American Pie star also alleged that there were 33 minutes of undisclosed surveillance footage.
She continued: “Many times I’m off camera and out of sight. The camera can also skip from five seconds, to 30 seconds or more often and I’m missing important information about events.”
Tara also said that after seeing the video, she only “had two glasses of wine every time”, but came back inside the bar “in a completely different state of mind”.
She added: “It looked like I hit all this wine at once and ended up on a stretcher, but after looking back at the video that wasn’t what happened.”
A Rosemont police spokesman confirmed the case was closed on December 11 as “no further evidence” emerged after authorities previously said they had no evidence that Tara Reid was used.
They added that officers had “spoken to everyone involved” about something “obvious”, which led to the decision to close the investigation.
