Russell Brand slams ex Katy Perry’s romance with Justin Trudeau

Russell Brand has finally reacted to ex-wife Katy Perry’s new romance with politician Justin Trudeau.

The 50-year-old comedian, who was speaking to the crowd at the Turning Point USA event in Phoenix on Thursday, slammed the singer for dating the former Prime Minister of Canada.

“Look, Katy Perry, I’m married to her,” Russell said. “I love her still, and I’m glad her mother is in the room to hear me say this, but look.”

“I’m fine with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don’t put me in that guy’s category! That’s international,” he added.

For the uninitiated, Katy and Russell were married from 2010 to 2012. After her separation from Russell, the pop sensation got engaged in Orlando in 2019.

However, the relationship did not last long as the couple ended their engagement in June 2025. The exes share a 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, together.

Katy first sparked rumors of a relationship with Justin in July 2025 when she was spotted on a date in Montreal, Canada.

At that time, an informant told him People magazine that the two had an “instant connection.”

“They are interested in each other, but it will take time to see where this goes,” the source said.

“She’s traveling the world and he’s figuring out his life now that he’s not the prime minister of Canada, but there’s an attraction. They have a lot in common,” he added confidently.

Katy and Justin made their first public appearance as a couple at a cabaret show in Paris in October 2025.
