Jamaican legend Jimmy Cliff has died at the age of 81.
On Monday, Jimmy’s wife, Latifa stories, announced the death of music on social media.
Explaining the original cause of death, Latifa revealed that Jimmy died after he had a seizure, followed by pneumonia.
“It is with great sadness that I share my husband, Jimmy Cliff, who passed away from a seizure followed by pneumonia,” she wrote on Instagram.
Latifa added, “I’m grateful to his family, friends, other artists and collaborators who share his journey with him.”
“For all his support in the world, please know that your support was his strength in all his work … Jimmy, my dear, I will follow your passion.
He concluded with the statement, “Jimmy, my dear, I hope you can all respect your privacy during these difficult times.
Jimmy Cliff, whose real name is James Chambers, was born in Jamaica in 1944.
