Prince William appreciated a bit of writing and keeping quiet as he quietly dropped by the Walnut Tree Inn in Inn, Wiltshire, for an unannounced working lunch on Thursday.
The Prince of Wales, 43, was in the duchy of Cornwall on business and chose the local pool on his estate for his meeting.
PUB owner William Friend-James said that the staff had no idea about the table that was promised a week ago to nine families that was royal. “Everybody got a little smaller when he walked in,” he said. William joined six groups at one table while his security detail sat separately.
Keeping things natural, the prince ordered a house knot, chicken, and lemon. Others chose the pool bar and the ocean. The group stays for about two hours, with random customers. The staff described Prince William as “down to earth” and easy to serve.
Despite the initial instructions against the photos, Prince William agreed to one while going to the bathroom, presenting two ways and a member of staff Lisa James. PUB later posted the photo on Facebook, praising the team for hosting him.
Prince William’s security team settled the bill and left the tip. The signing follows another unofficial one earlier this year, when he surprised Aston Villa fans in a Birmingham pub and bought it.
