Director Paul Feig is mourning Rob Reiner after the gruesome murder.
“I was lucky enough to sit next to Rob about 10 years ago at a dinner party, we talked for hours, and he’s always been one of my heroes,” Feig said. Various at the premiere of his new movie Home Girl.
“He’s one of my top directorial heroes among my acting heroes, and then last year we reconnected and I moderated a lot of parts for him. [like] ‘Spinal Tap,’ and we did a panel at Comic-Con together, and I really liked the guy,” he continued.
Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner were found dead with their throats slit in their Los Angeles home on Sunday. Their son Nick, 32, was charged with two counts of murder and arrested.
“[Rob] and Michelle were amazing, and I’m really sorry,” Feig said.
“His films will stand the test of time. I wish I had the hits he had and such longevity,” he added, enumerating. This is Spine Tactics, grief and When Harry met Sally.
“I invited Rob on the show tonight because he did ‘Misery,’ a comedy that took a thriller and made it a classic. I said to Rob, ‘You inspired me to do this,'” he shared.
Rob and Michele Reiner were found by their daughter Romy, who called the Los Angeles Fire Department.
