Owen Cooper had one concern on his mind when the movie hit Netflix Maturity: What if his friends treat him differently after the show?
A new interview with him Angry, Owen discussed his life after the international success of In adulthood, which made him the youngest supporting actor Emmy winner.
Despite his newfound fame, the 15-year-old is continuing his studies and will sit his GCSE exams next summer.
And his friends and teachers all treat him like before.
“My friends didn’t really mind
He continued, “The teachers cared, obviously – they were crazy about it. But my friends didn’t really look at it as – ‘What if everybody changes?’ What if all my friends change?’ “
“But I still yell at the teachers at school. I still take the mick with me. It’s good. I’m glad it hasn’t changed,” he said.
Synergy They are followed by young Jamie, played by Owen, who is brainwashed by an online mysgogynist. The show served to highlight the global issue of young men being taught the wrong principles online.
Owen also reflects on how society is assigned to people in many countries and cultures.
“When the show came out, I had no idea what to expect. I thought people would watch it in the UK, but obviously they travel all over the world,” he said.
“But when we were in it, I don’t think anyone expected it to happen the way it did. So when there’s talk of Emmeys, that’s crazy. Nobody knows that’s going to happen,” he added.
Owen Cooper has since gone on to star in the BBC show Film Club.
