Nicole Eggert opens up about her breast cancer treatment, admitting she’s been enjoying her “crazy journey.”
During a recent panel discussion at the Breast Cancer Symposium with SurvivorNet in San Antonio, the Baywatch alum shared her cancer journey and relationships with people going through the same stage.
“We hear one in eight women get breast cancer, but personally in my life, I don’t know anyone,” she told People. “So to meet new friends and meet people who are also living their lives on this crazy journey, it’s really hard to put into words, to be honest. But it’s really magical.”
The 53-year-old actress also revealed that during the conversation of the event she had her “aha moment” which was the realization that, unlike other breast cancer patients, she is satisfied with the fact that she is in this difficult time alone.
“Everybody kept talking about their wives and who was taking care of them and how they didn’t get by without this person, my experience was very different.
The actress, who was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer in 2024, recalled, “When I got my diagnosis, I felt alone. It was a moment where no one else was really dealing with it but me. Like, I have to deal with this, I have to go through this, I have to go through this, only I can do that.”
“It was at this time that I felt like no one could do anything for you. Me and my body are now between us, so with my travel and treatment, I really enjoyed the time alone with my body.
