A new update on the time of death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele has been shared by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
According to attorney Nathan J. Hochman, the actor-director and his wife are accused of killing 32-year-old Nick Reiner “around early morning” on December 14, via People.
“In the early hours of December 14, Reiner is accused of fatally stabbing Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, at their home in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood,” read a statement issued by Hochman’s office on Tuesday, December 16.
“Nick Reiner fled but was arrested hours later that evening in Exposition Park.”
Earlier in the day, Hochman said in a press release that he had no idea when Rob and Michelle were killed.
“I’m sorry we don’t have anything specific like that yet. We’re waiting for the coroner to be able to try and determine the best they can at this time of death,” the lawyer answered when asked.
In addition, Hochman’s office confirmed that Nick was charged with “two counts of murder in a special circumstance of multiple murders, and a special charge that he personally used a deadly weapon, a knife,” according to the press release.
District Attorney Hochman noted, “Prosecutions involving domestic violence are some of the most difficult and heart-wrenching we face because of the insidious and often brutal nature of the crimes.”
“Rob Reiner was one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation, his murder and his wife of more than 35 years, the murder of Michele Singer Reiner, is shocking and sad. We owe it to their memory to pursue justice and accountability for the life that was killed,” added the statement.
