Lizzo took to social media to celebrate a legal victory.
Fat-shaming claims have been dismissed by a lawsuit filed by three of her former dancers.
In August 2023, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against the singer, but the judge has now dismissed an important part of the accusations, which the dancers claimed that Lizzo humiliated in the workplace.
Although that claim has now been dropped, the lawsuit continues, with other allegations including allegations that Lizzo created a hostile work environment and even engaged in sexual harassment in incidents that allegedly took place between 2021 and 2023.
Lizzo has vehemently denied all the allegations.
The singer posted a video on her social network showing her standing in front of the camera with a series of captions on the video.
“The fat shaming stories against me have been officially stopped by the defendants,” the statement said. “They admit they have no merit in court.”
She continued, “There was no evidence that I fired them because they gained weight.”
“Because it never happened, now the truth has finally come out, they were not fired for increasing their weight, they were fired for filming privately without my consent and sending it to the former employee,” the statement added.
“I’ve never fired a weightlifter, I’ve only encouraged and supported overweight people and shared my space with them,” Lizzo said in the video.
“This claim has haunted me since the day it came out. It was so bad that I suffered in silence, but I let my lawyers lead. I am very grateful for this victory. I am still in a legal battle, I will not settle. I will fight every claim until the truth comes out,” she concluded.
