KISS shares heartfelt tribute in first show since Ace Frehley’s death

Kiss returned to the spotlight this weekend, marking their first performance since Andce Frehley’s death.

The rock legend reunited with his Holy Stones: An event in Las Vegas over the weekend, weeks after the former guitarist died at 74 after collapsing at his home. And the moment took a mix of celebration and loss.

Before starting the show, Paul Stanley stopped to pay tribute to the latter combination.

“Obviously, before we move on – and we have to have a very scary time – we just wanted to think a little bit about someone from the foundation of this team,” Stanley told the crowd on Friday, November 14.

“We definitely had our differences, but that’s what family is all about,” he added, referring to Frehley’s departure that followed years of ups and downs from his former team.

The next night, Stanley, genetics, Eric SIMMONS, Eric Sinmons and Tommy Thayer kept their contract, mentioning Frehley only when talking about the upcoming 1970s writing.

At one point, Tyyer raised his hand to the sky before diving for a solo, a gesture fans immediately picked up on.

During the three-day event, the challenge of “Ace, Ace, play” was posted between the mats, including one led by the opening of Sebastian Bach. The win reflects decades of appreciation for Frehley, who helped kiss the lineup in 1973 when he signed his “pause” on the air before leaving the team in 1982.
