Kevin Costner is back on screen, and this time he’s starring in the new ABC drama, Kevin Costner presents: The first Christmas.
A conversation with Every weekThe actor revealed that he is ready to talk openly about his faith and the spiritual roots of Christmas.
“Well, it’s the first Christmas, it’s the birth of Christ … I grew up in the church,” Costner shared while participating in the art of Etysium heaven.
“And I hope that if you’re a mummy person, or if you’re a perfume person, or if you’re interested in the real story behind Christmas traditions, I invite people to join me.”
The special, held on December 9, 2025, honors the style of the novel as it reflects why the season endures and why the season is difficult.
“They say Christmas is the best time of the year. An opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the wonderful story of a king being born,” he said of the project.
He also added, “If you believe or love the tradition, take a trip back with Kevin Costner, the first Christmas story you’ve ever seen.”
