Peter Greenne, best known as “Sperey” in “Pulp Deception” and Dorian Tyrell in “The Mask,” died at the age of 60.
Greenne was found dead in his home on Manhattan’s Lower East Side on Friday after neighbors vowed to hear Christmas music playing too loud, prompting a well-being check.
A neighbor told the New York Daily News that Greenne was found face down on the floor with facial injuries and blood.
Police say foul play is not suspected, and the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
Greenne had a documented history of drug use in the 1990s, including struggles with heroin and cocaine, a suicide attempt in 1996, and an arrest in 2007, although there were no reports linking him to his death.
His longtime manager, Gregg Edwards, called it a shock, describing Green as a talented character actor with upcoming projects and a consistent personality.
As fans gave Peter Green a kill after his death on social media many people quoted “Zader’s thin line” in ‘Zed’, baby. Zed is dead.”
This line was delivered by Bruce Willis, who played Butch Cootge in the movie.
Sadly, Bruce Willis himself has been battling early stage dementia until his diagnosis in 2023.
“Second death from the mask of the movie sad. The other guy who was Jim’s co-worker in the movie killed himself,” said fan X.
Another said, “I met him when I first got married in LA in 2000. He was a very nice person, very nice. We waited another year.
One user said, “one of the first movies I saw as a kid.
