Dolly Proton is shedding light on her health struggles as she misses another milestone this week.
According to the original source, the country’s queen was inducted into the International Association of Headscarved Gardens and Hall of Fame.
Instead, the 79-year-old accepted the honor through a video from Prontechord on Instagram, where she explained why she kept a low profile this fall.
“Okay, hey there, it’s dolly,” she said, dressed in her full ensemble. “And I’m sure I’d love to be with you in person today, but you’ve probably heard that I’m dealing with a few health challenges this fall. My doctors have been telling me little by little.”
Apologizing for not being able to be in person, Paston used the moment to thank his longtime partners, Jack and Peter, saying, You told me, and I love you very much. She also reflected on the original dream behind the park, recalling how she “put up with the window of my bus,” and marveled that it was still coming 40 years later.
She added that being the second woman to be inducted solo into the group’s hall of fame was “huge, wonderful” to celebrate Dollywood’s anniversary. “Remember we will always love you and thank you again,” she told fans and drivers of the playable park.
Earlier this week, Jolene’s hitter also received her first major league honor in the 16th governors’ zone.
Her absence coincides with another distant appearance, when she accepted a major Oscar honor from her home in Nashville as she continues to prioritize her health.
Paston drew criticism over concerns about her health earlier this year after canceling her residency in Las Vegas. To make her fans think, she shared a detailed health update on Instagram on October 8, opening up about her medical negligence following the death of her husband Carl Dean in the summer.
