Chris Hemsworth on career obsession: ‘Escapism’

Chris Hemsworth reflects on the first passion that set him on the path to Hollywood stardom.

A recent video Purpose with Jay Shettyah Thor The actor talked about how his love for acting started at a young age, and how it quickly turned into an acting goal.

“When I thought I was going to be an actor, it was overwhelming,” Hemsworth shared during the podcast.

Now, the 42-year-old Australian has become one of the most famous and highest paid actors in the world.

However, he admitted that as a child, he had little understanding of how that journey would actually be.

Acting, he explained, became a form of escapism as it was a dream.

“I had no doubt that I was going to do it,” he said, reflecting on his mindset at the time.

“There was a lack of understanding about the reality of how difficult that was.”

Despite the challenges, Hemsworth admits that his passion served a deeper purpose in his early years.

“But I guess it was kind of an escape,” he added, noting how the dream gave him focus and direction long before fame became a reality.
