‘Bridgerton’ boss reveals difference between season 4’s Sophie Baek and Cinderalla

Bridgerton season 4 will put a modern twist on the fairy tale.

The final season will follow Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) falling in love. However, Sophie is not like a normal girl in distress.

“We start with a character trope that we’ve seen a million times before, which is a maid who falls for someone above her station,” Bridgerton writer, producer, and showrunner Jess Brownell said. Entertainment Weekly.

“But I think a lot of times in these classic Cinderella stories, Cinderella is a little girl in trouble. And, in the case of Sophie Baek, she is nothing like that. We get to watch a young girl who is very stubborn and tries to decide her own destiny and takes the courage to believe and dream a bigger life than the one she has now,” Jess explained.

She added that Julia Quinn in the third book of Bridgerton A proposal from Mr. which follows the love story of Benedict and Sophie, was “the easiest book to adapt to.”

The showrunner noted that it is “very close to the television structure of a love story,” and has “rich elements that give us a juicy conflict and high stakes.”

“I think the fans will be happy to see a few parts of the book in the show,” she added.
