Jamie Lee Curtis marks 41 years of marriage to Christopher Guest

Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest are celebrating 41 years of marriage with a quiet but meaningful tribute.

On Thursday, Curtis, 67, shared a simple Instagram post showing the couple’s silhouettes as they hold hands, captioned with just the number “41” and a heart.

The couple got married on December 18, 1984, six months after they started dating. Since then, Curtis has often recalled that he knew Guest was a match almost immediately, before they even met.

After meeting in person at a West Hollywood restaurant, Guest proposed within months, leading to a marriage Curtis described as “wonderful, difficult, imperfect, and real.”

After struggling with infertility, Curtis and Guest became adoptive parents. They have two children together, including Annie, who was born in 1986, and Ruby, who was adopted in 1996.

Curtis and Guest were both honest about marriage requiring patience. Curtis has shared the same advice many times: don’t give up. “Stay on the bus,” she said. “The landscape will change.”
