Simon Cowell has revealed that he chose to find purpose in life’s most difficult times.
Speaking of The rest is podcast entertainmentThe music mogul opened up about his views on failure, missed opportunities and personal setbacks, sharing that he is a firm believer that everything just happens.
When asked what he learned from “The Biggest Sky,” Cowell admitted that his perspective was based on fate.
“I believe in fate,” he said.
The X factor The judge went on to explain how fatherhood, especially his relationship with his 11-year-old son Eric, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, has shaped the way he sees past problems.
“I always use Eric as an example, which is that there are certain things in my life that are bad,” Cowell reflects.
However, he added that those tough times eventually led him to where he is today.
According to Cowell, even the painful chapters were necessary for “that’s your destiny.”
He noted that Eric was “conceived on a certain day at a certain time,” and had events unfolded differently, his son might not have been born.
“If things had gone differently, then I don’t believe he would be here,” Cowell continued, concluding that this belief leaves little room for regret.
“So you can’t really complain too much about your regrets.”
