Jamie Campbell Bower reportedly went too fast when he revived Vecna Strange things Season 4.
A recent conversation with PEOPLE MagazineThe actor reflected on the demanding schedule that came with playing the show’s terrifying villain and revealed how physically draining the process was.
Bower explained that his days often start in the early hours of the morning to prepare for filming.
“We can start at 1 in the morning, 2 in the morning to be ready by 8 in the morning or 9 in the morning,” he shared, noting that this would be followed by a “full shooting day of maybe 10 to 12 hours.”
He even talked about how the work didn’t stop when filming as Bower added, “Then we’ll take him out for two hours in the evening.”
Despite his fatigue, he praised the production team for keeping his limits in mind.
In Season 4, the crew became more experienced and the schedule was carefully managed.
Bower credited Tudor Jones, who is now a season 5 producer and former first assistant director, for making sure he never filmed on consecutive days.
“He planned the shoots so cleverly that we never shot Jamie two days in a row,” Bower said.
While the days are still long and tiring, the built-in recovery time has made a difference.
“We would have had a very long day
“Then there would be a full road to recovery,” he concluded.
