Tom Brady shares some helpful advice with Patrick Mahomes, who recently underwent knee surgery for a torn ACL.
A close conversation about Let’s go! In a podcast on Monday, December 15, Brady, who also tore his ACL back in the 2008 NFL season, expressed his thoughts on Mahomes’ injury, noting that it was a “difficult” one but praised the quarterback, calling him “very resilient.”
“He’s going to work hard to get back,” said the former NFL star, who played in four more Super Bowls after recovering from an ACL tear.
Host Jim Gray asked Brady what advice he would share with Mahomes, to which Brady responded, saying the 30-year-old keeps in mind that this is part of his career and “other people have been through it,” too.
Brady went on to say, “You just need to put more effort into the rehabilitation process.”
“I always feel that the faster you recover, the faster you can return to the exercises that you know you like. I think that sometimes people will act on their own. Instead of the training process, they are in the rehabilitation process. I think that you quickly go through the rehabilitation process as quickly as possible, and then you return to the training process,” he explained, adding that reforming that process “requires It’s a total decision.”
“When you’re going through the rehab process, you need that same level of focus and determination. It’s a tough rehab, it’s one of the toughest rehabs,” he added.
It is important to mention that Mahomes suffered a left knee injury late Sunday in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
