Michelle Branch revisits Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after party in the early 2000s.
The singer shared some details in a series of Instagram Stories on Monday, revealing a text exchange with her former Wreckers bandmate, Jessica Harp.
The conversation was triggered by Harp watching a recent documentary about Combs and recognized a familiar moment – the MTV Music Awards in 2004 after the ceremony the couple attended.
Harp sent a photo of Getty Images to the scene, joking that one of the alleged “geniuses” discussed in the documentary may have happened that same night.
The branch replied that she would have long wondered about the ceremony itself.
Harp then noted that she didn’t stay long. Both now acknowledge the decision as a blessing.
Instead, Harp recalled, the two men smoked weed and ate Owen Wilson tacos.
In the caption, Branch called the VMA moment a standout for her longtime friend.
Branch and Harp formed the Wreckers in the mid-2000s, releasing their debut album Stand Still, Look Pretty in 2006, which featured the hit “Leave the Pieces.” Both men later went their separate ways to pursue solo careers.
