Maria Shriver remembers longtime friends, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, in a tribute, calling the couple “really good parents.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife took to Instagram on Monday to pay a sad tribute to the director and his wife after the couple were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday.
Shriver shared that she and the couple were among her “closest friends” and “had dinner” together “last weekend.”
Shriver revealed that she was “shocked, disappointed, shocked, surprised, and deeply saddened” by the shocking news.
Shriver, recalling their time together, continued, “We raised our children together, me and mom, we laughed together, we cried together, we played together, we dreamed together.”
Referring to her meeting with Rob and Michele last week, Shriver noted that “they were in the best place of their lives.”
“Love each other, their friends, their family, their country. They never gave up on our country. They wanted to make it better. They always wanted to make our world better. They were ready to fight to make it a country they loved.”
The writer continued, “I loved them, and I knew they loved me, because every friend like that is such a gift. They gave me and all their friends that gift all the time.”
She concluded with this post: “I hope people remember you as two deeply talented, kind, funny, loving, good, patriotic people who loved each other deeply. I will miss you, Michele, I will miss you, Rob, I love you both,” she continued. “Thank you for your friendship. God bless you both. Life wouldn’t be the same without you here, that’s for sure.”
It is important to mention that Rob and Michele’s son Nick was arrested and charged with murder.
