Cynthia Erivo recalls ‘first instinct’ to protect Ariana Grande in Singapore

Cynthia Erivo didn’t think twice when she saw someone running up and grabbing Ariana Grande Bad book: good decorated in Singapore last week.

Appears Today Show Thursday, November 20, the actress – who revealed that Elphaba – revealed that she was acting out of pure emotion when the accident happened.

“I’m really thinking, I just wanted to make sure my friend is safe,” Erivo, 38, answered when asked about the exchange with Stepana Guthrie.

“I’m sure he didn’t mean American side effects, but just for me, you never know those things and I wanted to make sure she was okay. That was my first instinct,” she added.

This incident happened as Erivo and Grande, 32 years old, were walking on the carpet of soft blue roads in the film on November 13. A man, who later identified himself as Pajama man on Instagram (real name Johnson Wen), jumped the ropes and ran on the carpet.

Out of action even before the guards, Evivo herself between her team and the man, who told him repeatedly to “get out of her!”

As something precious called ‘Michelleve’ and Jeff Goldblom were watched in horror, the guards were finally able to take the man to the red carpet.

The attack was quickly shut down in Singapore and blamed on public riots. He was sentenced to nine days in jail, instead New York Times.
