John Forent looks back on the years he spent feeling proud and embarrassed after selling his sample of songs in 1980.
As a member of this revivalist group, he wrote some of the biggest rock hits between 1969 and 1970, such as Corn Bayou, Green River, Bad Moon, and many more.
However, he lost ownership of his songs to fantasy records. He did it because it was the only way to get out of the bad contract he was stuck in.

Despite his speed, he admitted to “coming out of possession.”
For the next 50 years, folktyy lived with the painful feeling that he threw not only control over his life’s work but also luck.
“I felt like a sap, a sucker,” he said. “Someone will come to me and tell me how much they like a poem, that ‘proud of Mary Mary’ is something, and I feel a little stupid.”
50 years later in 2023, the Grammy award winner bought most of the CCR catalog from the registration of CCROG, which assumed ownership after the sale of the fantasy.
Earthquake hit him, “back them, it looked like a quick Esterem promotion.”
After the rights were restored, the will to restore the classics for a new album, HereditarySendence Water Revival of the year, as it is not yet and probably never will have the original masters.
