Daniel Radcliffe reveals ‘sweet’ exchange of notes with new ‘Harry Potter’ actor

Daniel Radcliffe shares a heartfelt moment he recently shared with the young actor as he stepped into the role that defined his childhood.

During the video Good morning America On November 18, Radcliffe opened up about writing a letter to 11-year-old Donic Mcluthlin, the new rock star in the upcoming TV adaptation.

When asked if the next Harry contacted him, Radcliffe clarified that he did not expect anything from the new cast.

But because he already knew a few people involved in the scenes, he decided to send Mclullin a personal message anyway. He said he wrote to Dominic and received a “very sweet text.”

Radcliffe, who appeared as Harry from 2001 to 2011 in eight films, explained that he did not want his presence to speak to the young stars who were taking over the three years.

He said he didn’t want to be a “light spectator to these kids,” which included Mclaughlin, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arebella Stanton as him.

What he wanted, however, was to wish Dominic well as the movie begins.

Radcliffe shared the exact message he sent “I just wanted to text him to say, ‘I hope you have a good time, a good time, I hope you have a good time.'”

When looking at the first photos of the new cast, Radcliffe admitted that he felt defensive, saying that he just wanted to “close” because they look young.

Expressing the view of the children who entered the world, he said that it is both “crazy” and “very sweet, both sweet,” and really hope they enjoy the experience.

The HBO series began production in July and is slated for a 2027 release.

Each of the seven JK books will be adapted in its time, introducing new faces such as John Litggore as Dumpisis’, and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy.

Warwick Davis will return as Professor Flitwick, adding a familiar touch to longtime fans.

Radcliffe has previously confirmed that he will not appear in the series, but previously shared that he was “excited to watch it as an audience member.”
